I’ve had these on my bike for like five or six years now, and goddamn if they aren’t the most comfortable and smooth rolling tires I’ve ridden.

They’re quickly becoming the hot tire for x-biking nerds, of which I admit I am one. These tires are actually designed for dirt jumpers, which makes them perfect for the kind of hard-pack trails I tend to send it on with my drop bar old steel mtb rando thing.

They’re fast-rolling, supple, smooth and so comfortable. Basically it feels like you’re riding on a cloud. Makes my bike feel just like a road bike, but since they’re over 2 inches wide I can confidently get em chundery and be sure to come out on the other side.

DTH stands for “drop the hammer,” per official Maxxis branding copy, but I like to think of it as “Down to Huck” for some reason. While they are designed for the jumpy bikes, they are basically perfect for touring as well. Have had a few flats, but I’ve also ridden them for a couple thousand km, so that’s to be expected. I run them tubed, because my rims are ancient, but have had no problems with them that way. TBH I’m not sure if they can even be run tubeless.

A quick perusal of the Maxxis site shows that no, they are not tubeless compatible.

Also goddamn the tan walls look good. Even muddy with 1,000+ km on them they are sharp-looking.

Anyway, if you want a fast, smooth, good looking tire for your rad build, dirt jumper, cruiser or whatever check em out (they also come in BMX size if you wanna go that route).
